Explosion Hits Supreme Court Building

A powerful explosion struck the Supreme Court building in Islamabad on Monday, injuring at least four people and triggering panic in the highly secured area. The blast reportedly occurred near one of the main entrances, shaking nearby offices and scattering debris across the courtyard.

Rescue teams and security forces quickly rushed to the scene, cordoning off the area and evacuating staff and visitors. Ambulances transported the injured to nearby hospitals, where medical officials said all four victims are in stable condition.

Initial reports suggest the explosion may have been caused by an explosive device planted near the perimeter wall, though authorities have yet to confirm the nature of the blast. Bomb disposal units are conducting a detailed sweep of the premises.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as smoke filled the air and people scrambled to safety. Several vehicles parked nearby were damaged by the impact of the explosion.

Interior Ministry officials said a full-scale investigation has been launched, with law enforcement agencies reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible. Security has been heightened across key government buildings in the capital.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the incident, calling it an attack on the country’s judicial system and vowing swift justice for those behind the blast. He also directed authorities to ensure enhanced protection for all judicial institutions.
