The probable venues for Pakistan’s upcoming two-match Test tour of Bangladesh are beginning to take shape, with Sylhet and Mirpur emerging as the frontrunners for hosting the fixtures in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle.
Although the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not yet officially confirmed the locations, reports suggest that the opening Test, tentatively scheduled for May 8, is expected to take place at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The selection of Sylhet is believed to be a strategic move, as its pitch conditions are known to offer more bounce and assistance to seam bowlers—unlike the typically slow and spin-friendly tracks found across much of the subcontinent. This could play a key role in Bangladesh’s planning as they aim to gain an early advantage against Pakistan.
The second Test match, likely to begin on May 16, is expected to be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. While official confirmation is still pending, the anticipated division of venues hints at Bangladesh’s tactical approach, potentially using contrasting pitch conditions to influence the outcome of the series.
Pakistan’s squad is scheduled to travel to Dhaka on the night of May 4, shortly after the final of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11). In preparation for the series, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already initiated a 13-day red-ball training camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. The camp includes 18 players and focuses on rigorous training, skill development sessions, and two 90-over practice matches, as the team begins its preparations for the upcoming Test season.
