Sebastián Piñera, the former president of Chile, tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash at the popular vacation destination of Lago Ranco.

According to international media reports, three passengers on the ill-fated helicopter survived as it crashed into a lake on Tuesday. The 74-year-old billionaire politician was known to pilot his own helicopter, although there is no confirmation regarding his involvement in the recent crash.

Chilean authorities expressed deep regret over the tragic passing of the former premier, indicating that the crash occurred approximately 920 kilometers south of Santiago. Piñera’s remains were recovered by the navy in a region where he traditionally spent time with his family annually.
