In the ENG vs NEP fixture, England recorded the highest team score of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup so far, putting up an impressive 184-7 against Nepal during the fifth match at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.
After winning the toss, England captain Harry Brook chose to bat first, looking to build early momentum and put Nepal under pressure from the outset. The decision proved effective as England’s batting unit delivered a balanced and confident performance.
Jos Buttler set the tone with a quick 26 off 17 balls before departing. Jacob Bethell then steadied the innings, playing a crucial knock of 55 from 35 deliveries. Skipper Brook also contributed significantly, scoring a brisk 53 off 32 balls. Toward the end, Will Jacks accelerated the scoring, smashing an unbeaten 39 off just 18 balls to push the total higher.
However, England did lose a few cheap wickets, including Phil Salt and Jofra Archer, who managed only a single run each. Nepal also conceded five extras, helping England finish strongly at 184-7 after their 20 overs.
Chasing the target, Nepal started positively and reached 75-2 in nine overs, showing intent and confidence. Despite the promising start, losing two important wickets kept the pressure alive and left the match finely balanced.
Elsewhere in the tournament, India dominated the USA with a commanding 132-run victory, led by their captain’s impressive 84 off 49 balls. West Indies defeated Scotland comfortably after bowling them out for 147 while defending a total of 182. Meanwhile, Pakistan began their campaign with a narrow three-wicket win over the Netherlands, successfully chasing 147.
With several exciting results, the tournament continues to deliver competitive and thrilling contests.
