In communications addressed to the provincial election commissioners, the ECP outlined that its employees and officers would be receiving a bonus equivalent to three times their basic salaries. However, individuals undergoing departmental inquiries or being engaged in services tribunals or judiciary cases would not qualify for this bonus, clarified the ECP.

It has been reported that the ECP had previously disbursed a bonus equivalent to two months’ salary to its employees in March, following the conclusion of the general elections in February. As per regulations from the finance ministry, institutions are not permitted to provide more than five bonuses to their staff within a single fiscal year.
Following the general elections on February 8, CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja lauded the efforts of the ECP staff, law enforcement agencies, and local administration for ensuring a peaceful electoral process and a seamless transfer of power from the caretaker government to the elected administration.
However, despite these commendations, allegations of election tampering surfaced. Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha, who resigned from his position, unexpectedly confessed to involvement in rigging the 2024 Pakistan general elections. Chatha admitted to this “heinous crime” and implicated the Election Commission of Pakistan and Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa in the rigging, allegations that both the ECP and the CJP have refuted.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
