X Raises Premium-Plus Plan Prices to Support Creator Payments
Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, has increased the price of its premium-plus plan in multiple markets starting December 21. The move aims to enhance creator payments on the platform.
In the U.S., the premium-plus tier now costs $22 per month, up from the previous $16. Meanwhile, prices for the basic tier and standard premium subscriptions remain unchanged at $3 and $8, respectively, according to a company blog post.

This pricing adjustment comes after X revised its revenue-sharing model in October, prioritizing subscription fees as a more direct source of payouts to creators. The updated model focuses on rewarding content quality and user engagement over ad views.
The new pricing applies to new subscribers immediately, while existing members can retain their current rates until January 20.
Premium-plus subscribers enjoy ad-free browsing along with exclusive features like expanded access to the Grok AI chatbot and Radar, a tool providing real-time analytics on trending keywords.
Subscriptions form a key component of Musk’s vision for driving revenue at X, a platform that previously relied heavily on advertising before its rebranding from Twitter.
