Massive Relief: Electricity Prices Slashed Across Pakistan for Domestic and Commercial Consumers

In a significant development, electricity tariffs have been reduced by Rs1.90 per unit across Pakistan, offering major financial relief to millions of households and businesses. The move comes as part of the government’s monthly fuel price adjustment mechanism and follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent pledge to ease the burden of electricity costs.

K-Electric and National Consumers to Benefit

According to separate notifications from the regulatory authorities, the revised electricity prices will be reflected in consumer bills for April:

  • Karachi (K-Electric consumers): Rs3.2 per unit reduction under January’s adjustment
  • Rest of the country (excluding Karachi): Rs0.46 per unit reduction under February’s adjustment

The government says this initiative is part of a broader plan to stabilize power tariffs and provide consistent relief to the public.
