A shocking incident unfolded in Sheikhupura where an elderly woman, seeking correction of her electricity bill, was allegedly mishandled and forcefully removed from the Lesco office by a security guard. Lesco, responsible for electricity supply across Lahore Division—including Sheikhupura, Kasur, Nankana, Okara, and Lahore—came under fire after a viral video showed the guard dragging the woman and throwing her out of the office gate in front of other visitors.

According to reports, the woman had approached the office to report an error in her bill, hoping for assistance. However, instead of support, she was met with hostility. The guard’s aggressive behavior sparked widespread anger both locally and online, with many condemning the mistreatment of a citizen, especially someone elderly and vulnerable.

Social media users demanded accountability, calling the act “inhumane” and unacceptable in any public service setting. Critics also voiced concern about the absence of proper complaint handling systems in such institutions, which often leaves people—particularly women—exposed to mistreatment.

Despite public outrage, Lesco and local authorities have not issued an official response, further fueling frustration. The incident has reignited the debate over the need for reforms in public offices and better training of staff to treat citizens with dignity and respect.
