Egypt Trains Hundreds of Palestinians to Build Future Gaza Police Force

Egypt has begun training hundreds of Palestinians in preparation for forming a future police force that could help maintain security in post-war Gaza.

According to regional officials, the training focuses on crowd control, basic policing skills and crisis response methods suitable for a heavily damaged territory.

The initiative is part of broader discussions involving Arab states on how Gaza’s civil institutions can stabilise once the conflict eventually subsides.

Sources say the trained personnel are expected to support local governance structures and ensure law and order during the early reconstruction phase.

Egyptian authorities have stressed that the programme aims to strengthen Palestinian capacity, not impose external control over the security landscape.

The plan is still evolving, with many political and logistical questions unresolved as the future of Gaza remains deeply uncertain.
