Egg Prices Reaches to Historic Highs Across Pakistan

The recent data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) indicates a significant surge in the average price of a dozen eggs across the country, reaching an unprecedented high of over Rs. 420 per dozen. This surge marks the highest cost ever recorded for eggs in the nation’s history.

Major cities such as Islamabad, Peshawar, and Faisalabad have witnessed this remarkable increase, with the current price of a dozen eggs soaring to Rs. 420. Sialkot closely follows, where consumers are now paying Rs. 410 for a dozen eggs, reflecting the widespread impact of this surge.

Other cities, including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Larkana, Multan, Quetta, and Bannu, are also grappling with the escalation, as the cost of eggs reaches Rs. 400 per dozen. Meanwhile, Khuzdar and Sukkur experience a relatively lower price of Rs. 390 per dozen, as per PBS data.

Rates in Karachi, Bahawalpur, and Hyderabad are comparatively lower, quoted at Rs. 380 per dozen, yet the overall trend underscores a notable increase in egg prices nationwide.
