The department warned that any violation of the Punjab Government Rules of 1966 will lead to serious consequences. Provincial authorities have already taken similar actions, particularly against police officials using social media.

In line with these measures, a new social media policy was approved for Islamabad police, restricting officers from sharing personal views or public content without approval.

Officers are also prohibited from posting videos or photos in uniform, inside government vehicles, or offices for personal promotion, as well as sharing sensitive or official information online.
