ECP Announces New Schedule For By-Elections In Faisalabad And Sahiwal

The ECP has announced a revised schedule for by-elections in five constituencies of Faisalabad and Sahiwal. Polling is now set for November 23, 2025, under the provisions of the Election Act 2017.

According to the spokesperson of the Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab, the by-elections will be held in NA-96, NA-104, NA-143, PP-98, and PP-203. The new timeline has been designed to ensure a smooth and transparent election process.

Key Dates in the Revised Schedule

The last date for filing appeals against Returning Officers’ decisions is October 24, 2025. The Appellate Tribunals will announce their decisions by October 31, followed by the publication of the revised list of candidates on November 1. Candidates who wish to withdraw from the contest can do so by November 3, while election symbols will be allotted on November 4.

ECP Emphasizes Code of Conduct

The ECP has directed all candidates, political parties, and relevant institutions to strictly follow the code of conduct during the election campaign. Authorities stressed that the entire process must comply with the Election Act 2017 to ensure transparency, fairness, and free competition.

Officials said that the revised schedule provides sufficient time for appeals, candidate withdrawals, and final preparations ahead of polling day. The ECP’s clear guidelines aim to maintain order and credibility throughout the election process.
