Earthquake Of 5.4 Magnitude Hits Iran’s Kerman Province

A moderate earthquake hit southeastern Iran on Tuesday morning, shaking parts of the Kerman province. The tremor measured 5.4 on the Richter scale.

According to Iranian media, the earthquake occurred at 10:06 am local time. The Seismological Centre of the University of Tehran reported that the epicenter was 41 kilometers from Panag, a remote area in Kerman province.

So far, there have been no reports of casualties or serious structural damage. However, emergency response teams have been placed on alert as a precautionary measure.

State media confirmed that the situation is being closely monitored. Authorities are checking nearby towns and villages for possible damage or injuries.

Iran lies in a major seismic zone and often experiences tremors. This earthquake is considered moderate but still strong enough to raise concern among local residents. Panag and surrounding areas are sparsely populated, which may explain the absence of major damage.

In the past, stronger earthquakes in Iran have resulted in serious damage and loss of life. Thankfully, this time the impact appears to be minimal. However, experts continue to warn of possible aftershocks in the region.

Kerman province has experienced several earthquakes over the years. Emergency services in the area remain prepared to respond to any developments.

Iranian geological agencies will continue to study this latest earthquake to better understand the movement along fault lines in the region.

Residents in nearby areas are advised to stay cautious and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities. Preparedness remains a key factor in reducing risk during future seismic events.

Further updates will be issued if conditions change or aftershocks are recorded.
At the same time,a 5.4-magnitude earthquake hit several regions across Pakistan, causing tremors in multiple areas.
