E-Challan System Rolled Out In Yet Another District Of Punjab

The Safe City Authority has introduced the E challan system in Muzaffargarh, aiming to modernize traffic enforcement. This new system will help make roads safer and reduce traffic violations.

To mark the launch, an awareness rally was held from the Safe City office to the Muzaffargarh Press Club. The event was attended by officials from the Safe City Authority, District Traffic Police, Punjab Highway Patrol, and Rescue 1122. Community leaders from various sectors also joined the rally.

The E challan system uses surveillance cameras placed around the city. These cameras detect traffic violations such as speeding, running red lights, and not wearing helmets or seatbelts. When a violation is recorded, an automatic challan is issued to the offender.

Officials say this system will improve the efficiency of traffic law enforcement. It will also help reduce corruption and human error. Besides traffic monitoring, the cameras support broader security efforts by aiding police in tracking criminal activities.

Citizens were urged to follow traffic rules strictly. Wearing seatbelts, using helmets, and obeying speed limits can help avoid fines under the E challan system. Authorities emphasized the importance of public cooperation to ensure the system’s success and enhance road safety.

The introduction of the E challan system in Muzaffargarh follows similar implementations in other Punjab districts. The Punjab Government is committed to expanding this technology to improve traffic management province-wide.

This initiative reflects a strong push toward digital solutions for public safety. With ongoing public awareness and strict enforcement, the E challan system is expected to reduce accidents and save lives.
