Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson has claimed the top spot on Forbes’ highest-paid actors list for 2024, thanks to his massive earnings from Red One and Moana 2.
Despite Red One receiving negative reviews and underperforming at the box office in November 2024, Johnson actively promoted the film on social media. His efforts paid off, as the movie attracted a record-breaking 50 million viewers during its opening weekend on Amazon Prime Video in December.

Johnson reportedly earned $50 million upfront for both acting and producing Red One, along with a buyout of back-end profits—making it the largest fee-plus-buyout deal in history for a single film.
According to Forbes, his combined earnings from Moana 2, Red One, and past projects totaled an estimated $88 million last year, securing his position as the highest-paid actor of 2024.
Following him on the list is Ryan Reynolds with an estimated $85 million, while Kevin Hart ranks third with $81 million. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld and actor Hugh Jackman take the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
Upcoming Projects
Dwayne Johnson is set to produce a film adaptation of the hit video game It Takes Two, which was originally released in 2021 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and later on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
The game, centered on a couple turned into dolls working to repair their relationship, had sold over 20 million copies by October 2024. While Johnson is confirmed as a producer, speculation suggests he may also take on a starring role in the film.
