LAHORE: In a new development in the high-profile case of YouTuber Ducky Bhai (Saad ur Rehman), a Lahore court has sent him to jail on a 14-day judicial remand over accusations of promoting illegal gambling applications in Pakistan
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) produced the influencer in court after his three-day physical remand expired. During Monday’s hearing, the magistrate directed investigators to submit the case challan without delay.
Ducky Bhai was dramatically arrested on August 17 at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. Authorities allege he not only promoted apps such as Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365, and B9 Game, but also served as a country manager for one of them, earning hefty payouts by encouraging his millions of followers to join.
The YouTuber now faces multiple charges, including digital forgery, fraud, spamming, spoofing, cheating, and dishonest inducement, under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, and the Pakistan Penal Code. If convicted, he could face serious legal consequences.
The scandal has rattled Pakistan’s influencer community, with several other content creators—including Sistrology’s Iqra Kanwal, Muhammad Anas Ali, Hasnain Shah, Mudasar Hasan, and viral star Nadeem Nani Wala—also summoned by investigators.
According to NCCIA, this case goes beyond mere advertising and points to active participation in financial scams. With fans shocked and critics demanding accountability, Pakistan’s influencer industry faces greater scrutiny than ever before.
