Pakistani YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, has filed an appeal in a Lahore court against the judicial magistrate’s decision granting his physical remand.
Rehman, a leading content creator with more than eight million subscribers, was arrested on August 17 at Lahore’s international airport while allegedly trying to leave the country despite being placed on the government’s “Prohibited/National Interest List.”
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) accuses him of promoting illegal online betting platforms, including 1XBet and Binimi, through his YouTube channel and social media accounts. Promoting or facilitating such sites is banned under Pakistan’s cybercrime and criminal laws. His arrest also led to the seizure of a mobile phone.
The case has been registered under the amended Electronic Crimes Act (FIR No. 196/25) and sections of the Pakistan Penal Code related to obscenity and fraud.
Ducky Bhai’s legal team argues the four-day remand was issued without proper review and should be overturned. The Lahore court has accepted the appeal and directed NCCIA to submit its written response by September 1.
