Dubai Introduces 5-Year Multiple-Entry Visa For Asian Nation

Dubai has introduced a new five-year multiple-entry visa for tourists, specifically targeting enhanced travel between India and the United Arab Emirates. This initiative aims to deepen economic collaborations, boost tourism, and strengthen business relations between the two countries.

The new visa allows Indian applicants to stay for up to 90 days, extendable once for a similar period, with a total stay not exceeding 180 days within a year. The streamlined application process ensures swift issuance, taking two to five working days upon receiving and accepting the service request. The visa provides flexibility with multiple entries and exits, facilitating smoother transitions for both business engagements and leisure travel.

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) underscores the significance of this step, emphasizing its commitment to fostering enduring ties with India. In 2023, Dubai welcomed an impressive 2.46 million overnight visitors from India, marking a 25% increase from pre-pandemic levels and solidifying India’s position as the leading source market.

The introduction of the five-year multiple-entry visa aligns with Dubai’s broader efforts to expand its international tourism footprint. The city recorded 17.15 million international overnight visitors in 2023, reflecting a substantial 19.4% growth from the previous year.

India and Dubai, or the United Arab Emirates, have witnessed strengthened ties in recent years, attributed to various factors, including the significant presence of Indians residing and working in the emirate. Additionally, the UAE conferred the Order of Zayed medal upon Narendra Modi, the Indian Prime Minister, highlighting the diplomatic and strategic collaborations between the two nations.

This initiative not only facilitates easier travel for Indian tourists but also supports Dubai’s goal of enhancing its global tourism appeal. The city’s commitment to fostering strong ties with India is evident through these measures, contributing to the growth of bilateral relations and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a key international destination.
