An emergency occurred on a PIA flight from Karachi to Dubai when the aircraft rapidly descended 26,000 feet in six minutes over the Gulf of Oman. According to a PIA spokesperson, the pilot managed the situation effectively. Aviation sources reported that PIA Flight PK 213 took off from Karachi at 2:05 AM and about an hour later, while cruising at 36,000 feet near Muscat, the Airbus A320 experienced a critical hydraulic system failure.
The aircraft dropped to 10,000 feet within six minutes, prompting the pilot to declare an emergency and seek assistance from Muscat ATC and radar. A PIA spokesperson confirmed that the hydraulic malfunction caused the emergency, but the pilot skillfully handled the issue during the flight.

Sources noted that the pilot chose not to land in Muscat and continued to Dubai, maintaining a low altitude of 10,000 feet for approximately 50 minutes. The PIA spokesperson also mentioned that the airline is currently facing an aircraft shortage due to recent administrative issues.
