At least 60 people, mostly women and children, were killed early Tuesday as Israeli air strikes pummeled multiple areas across the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian health officials.
The heaviest toll was reported in northern Gaza, where a family home and a school sheltering displaced civilians were hit, killing at least 22 people. Central Gaza’s Deir el-Balah and the Nuseirat refugee camp saw 28 more deaths combined, while strikes in Khan Younis claimed another 10 lives.

Nearly 53,500 Palestinians, the majority women and children, have been killed since October 2023. Israel faces legal challenges at both the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice over alleged war crimes and accusations of genocide.
