Disney Cruise Line Reveals Plans for Four Additional Ships, Joining the Four Already on the Way

The Disney Treasure is set to launch this December, with the Disney Adventure and Disney Destiny scheduled to sail next year. Additionally, Disney is collaborating with Oriental Land Company, the owner of Tokyo Disney Resort, to create a new OLC-owned ship inspired by the Disney Wish.

At the D23 Ultimate Disney Fan Event on Saturday night, Disney announced plans for four more ships, which will launch between 2027 and 2031. This expansion will effectively double the size of the cruise line’s fleet over the next decade.

“The demand for our existing cruise fleet is extremely high, so we see a significant opportunity to invest in new ships,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, in an interview with USA TODAY.

Disney Cruise Line has a strong following, especially among families. “We know that when guests board our ships, 40% to 50% say their only reason for cruising today is because Disney is here. We’ve created a unique space in the market,” he noted. “Our guests consistently rate their experiences highly and often want to return.”

D’Amaro mentioned that the new ships will help connect with a broader audience. For instance, the Disney Adventure will be the first ship to sail in Southeast Asia. “With this expanded fleet, we can meet our fans where they are and share all these incredible stories,” he added.
