The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has strongly denied recent claims made by Indian journalist Vikrant Gupta, describing them as completely false. The board emphasized that it has not contacted the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding any boycott of the upcoming match against India.
A PCB spokesperson stated, “The reports circulating in the Indian media are entirely untrue. These are baseless claims. Let time pass, and it will become clear who actually initiated contact.” Adding a mysterious note, the spokesperson remarked, “Soon, it will be evident who approaches whom, and who doesn’t.”
The controversy began after Indian media outlets reported that the PCB had allegedly written to the ICC, outlining reasons for refusing to play the Group A clash against India. These reports fueled widespread speculation and uncertainty about Pakistan’s intentions, generating intense discussion among cricket fans and analysts.
Previously, the PCB had announced that its team would not take the field against India in the scheduled Group A match. This announcement followed the removal of Bangladesh from the tournament due to security concerns, with Scotland confirmed as their replacement in the fixture.
The conflicting narratives have escalated tensions surrounding the tournament, leaving fans eager to see the actual course of events. While rumors continue to swirl, the PCB maintains that no official communication has been made to the ICC regarding a boycott, and any reports suggesting otherwise are misleading.
As the high-stakes clash approaches, the cricketing world remains watchful of developments, keen to understand the truth behind the alleged communications and how the situation will ultimately be resolved. For now, the PCB stands firm in rejecting all claims of boycotting India and urges the public to await verified information.
