In June, the e-passport service debuted in Islamabad and has now been introduced across the entire country. Additionally, there are plans to implement smart gates at major international airports such as Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi, facilitating expedited immigration procedures for travelers possessing e-passports.
The DGI&P has disclosed the pricing details for e-passports of varying durations. A five-year, 36-page e-passport is priced at Rs. 9,000, and an urgent electronic passport with a similar validity period costs Rs. 15,000.

Officials state that the e-passport service is available at all passport offices throughout the country. In the next phase, the government plans to extend this service to Pakistani embassies worldwide, including those in Europe and America.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
