Detain Me, Release Remaining PTI Leaders, Urges Imran Khan

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister, called upon Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa to establish a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9. Addressing the media from Adiala Jail, Khan expressed willingness to remain incarcerated while advocating for the release of other party leaders. He specifically named Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Aliya Hamza, Ejaz Chaudhry, Mehmoodur Rashid, Omar Cheema, and others.

Khan urged Chief Justice Faez Isa to address PTI’s petition from May 25 and initiate a thorough inquiry into the May 9 incidents, emphasizing the importance of reviewing CCTV footage and holding those accountable for the theft of such footage. He alleged that the May 9 incident was orchestrated to discredit PTI, likening it to tactics used against Palestine by Israel.

Furthermore, Khan demanded an inquiry into events on February 8, citing concerns about electoral rigging and questioning the credibility of the Election Commission. He referenced a National Security Committee meeting where Asad Majeed purportedly disclosed a threat, suggesting a need for further investigation into this matter and Donald Lo’s statement.

Khan highlighted the absence of the American ambassador’s visit during his incarceration and hinted at discussing Donald Lo’s statement and the role of the US embassy in Pakistan once such a meeting occurs. Additionally, he raised concerns about the missing original cipher from the Foreign Office and emphasized the importance of maintaining security protocols for the Prime Minister’s office.
