Toronto Airports Authority officials confirmed there were no deaths, expressing relief over the swift emergency response that prevented further casualties. Injuries were reported among a child, a senior citizen, and a woman in her 40s, with over a dozen passengers hospitalized.

Images and videos of the incident circulated online, showing the plane overturned on the snow-covered tarmac, while fire crews sprayed foam on the aircraft. Passengers were seen exiting the plane, with one onlooker capturing footage of the scene.

Pearson Airport reopened after some time, but the crash caused significant delays and cancellations, leaving many passengers stranded as flights were rescheduled.

Parts of Canada have been experiencing extreme weather conditions, including heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures, leading to travel disruptions. Although initial reports suggested wind gusts contributed to the crash, Toronto Pearson’s fire chief, Todd Aitken, confirmed that there were no crosswinds or wet runway conditions at the time of the incident.
