ISLAMABAD – At least 21 more people have lost their lives in the latest wave of Pakistan flash floods and heavy rain, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The update was shared on Wednesday, highlighting the worsening impact of monsoon rains that began on June 26.
The NDMA confirmed that a total of 242 people have died due to rain and flood-related incidents across the country over the past month. Among the victims are women and children. An additional 598 individuals have been injured, many seriously.
The latest Pakistan floods report also shows widespread property destruction. More than 804 homes have been damaged, with many left completely uninhabitable.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province. The region has recorded 135 deaths and 470 injuries. A total of 192 houses have been damaged, 24 of them completely destroyed.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 40 people have died and 69 injured. The floods have caused damage to 220 homes, with 78 of them collapsing entirely.

Balochistan has reported 16 deaths and four injuries. The region saw eight houses completely wiped out and another 56 partially damaged.
Officials warn the situation could worsen as the monsoon season continues. Relief efforts are underway, but access to remote areas remains a challenge.
The NDMA has urged citizens to follow safety guidelines and remain alert in vulnerable areas. Authorities are closely monitoring water levels in rivers and canals to prevent further disaster.
The Pakistan flood destruction highlights the growing impact of climate change in the region, where extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and deadly.
