A tragic road accident on the M5 Motorway near Iqbalabad in Rahim Yar Khan claimed the lives of at least four people and left 26 others injured in the early hours of Wednesday. The crash involved a passenger bus traveling from Karachi to Pakpattan and a truck loaded with mangoes.
According to officials from Rescue 1122, the bus driver is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading the vehicle to swerve into the path of the oncoming truck. The collision caused significant damage to both vehicles and resulted in chaos on the highway.

Emergency response teams, including motorway police and Rescue 1122 personnel, arrived swiftly at the scene. Ten people with minor injuries were treated on-site, while 16 others were taken to nearby hospitals for further care. The identification of the deceased is currently in progress.
Authorities have cordoned off the crash site and redirected traffic to alternate routes to prevent congestion. Police are collecting evidence as part of a formal investigation into the incident, with initial findings pointing to driver negligence and fatigue as key factors.
