The District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore has taken strict action against private schools that reopened during winter holidays. Officials warned that any violations would be dealt with immediately.
Oxford Grammar School Shahdara and Tehzeeb-ul-Islam School on Bedian Road were among the schools sealed for reopening during the official winter break. Umm-ul-Huda School in Sabzazar was also shut down for the same violation.
DEA authorities issued stern warnings to all private schools in Lahore. Administrations were told not to operate before the official end of winter vacations. Any further violations would lead to immediate sealing.
“The crackdown against private schools violating the holiday schedule is ongoing,” a DEA spokesperson said. “Schools operating during winter holidays will face strict consequences.”
Officials clarified that all schools, both public and private, will reopen on January 12, 2026, as per the official notification. This step ensures consistency in the academic calendar across Lahore.
