Today, Pakistan and the world observe the “International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers,” recognizing the bravery of those who served in UN peacekeeping missions globally.
Pakistan acknowledges the courageous contributions of its peacekeepers, reflecting its unwavering dedication to fostering peace and stability in conflict-affected regions.

As the largest contributor of troops to UN missions, Pakistan has deployed around 235,000 personnel in 48 missions across 29 countries since 1960.
Currently, approximately 3,000 Pakistani peacekeepers serve in missions spanning the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Cyprus, Western Sahara, and Somalia.
These troops exhibit remarkable dedication and skill in fulfilling UN mandates, significantly contributing to global peace efforts.
On this International Day of Peace, Pakistan honors its “Pakistani Peacekeepers” for their invaluable service in promoting world peace.
