Data Darbar has opened applications for people wishing to observe Itikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan. The administration will accept applications until the 29th of Shaban.
Applicants must submit several documents along with their form. These include a copy of the national identity card, a medical certificate, and verification from their local police station. Additionally, passport-size photographs are mandatory.
After submission, all applications will be sent to the Special Branch for security clearance. Only applicants approved by the Special Branch will be allowed to sit in Itikaf at Data Darbar.
To streamline the process, the Punjab Auqaf Department has set up a special counter inside Data Darbar to receive applications. Authorities emphasized that applications will be accepted only through this counter.
Officials have urged applicants to provide complete and accurate documents to avoid delays or rejection. Incomplete applications may not be processed, and applicants are advised to double-check their submissions.
Itikaf is a spiritual practice observed during the last ten days of Ramadan. Devotees spend their time in prayer, recitation of the Quran, and reflection. Data Darbar, one of the most prominent Sufi shrines in Pakistan, attracts thousands of worshippers every year during this period.
Authorities also highlighted the importance of security protocols. The Special Branch will carefully screen applicants to ensure the safety of all participants. This process aims to maintain order and allow devotees to focus on their spiritual activities.
