The black box of the government helicopter that recently crashed in Mahmand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been successfully recovered and handed over to the investigation team, officials confirmed.
According to initial reports, the device, which is crucial for determining the cause of the accident, was believed to be missing after the crash. However, police teams carried out a search in the surrounding area and managed to trace it nearly 100 meters away from the actual site of impact. Authorities noted that the box, along with other equipment and machinery retrieved from the debris, has been secured and passed on to the relevant officials for examination.
The recovery of the black box is considered an important step in the inquiry process, as it will provide critical flight data and communication records that may help establish the reasons behind the tragic incident.
The helicopter, part of government relief operations across different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, went down in Mahmand two days ago. Sadly, all five people on board, including the pilots and crew members, lost their lives in the crash. The investigation team is now working to piece together the events leading up to the accident.
