The Lahore High Court has issued notices to all parties involved in the case against YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, over the alleged promotion of a gambling app. The court has asked the parties to submit their replies before the next hearing.
During the hearing, Justice Farooq Haider presided over the proceedings related to Ducky Bhai’s post-arrest bail application. The court reviewed the case details and directed both sides to provide written responses before further action is taken. The hearing was then adjourned until the next scheduled date.
The case revolves around allegations that the popular YouTuber promoted an online gambling application through his digital platforms. The complaint claims that such endorsements encourage illegal online betting among viewers, particularly young audiences.
Earlier, local authorities launched an investigation after several social media influencers were accused of advertising gambling apps and websites. Ducky Bhai, one of Pakistan’s most followed YouTubers, has denied any involvement in illegal activities and maintains that his content complies with platform guidelines.
The Lahore High Court’s notice now puts the spotlight back on the growing issue of online gambling promotions in Pakistan. Legal experts suggest that this case could set a precedent for future regulations concerning influencer marketing and digital endorsements.
This is not the first time a public figure has faced legal scrutiny over online promotions. In a similar incident, Saba Qamar recently took legal action against a journalist, highlighting how legal disputes involving celebrities and digital conduct are becoming increasingly common.
Observers believe the outcome of Ducky Bhai’s case could influence future policies on advertising and online content moderation in Pakistan’s social media space. The court’s decision on his bail request is expected in the coming hearings.
