District and Sessions Court Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the audio leak case. The court has directed authorities to arrest him and present him before the court.
The audio leak case involves alleged conversations that surfaced online, leading to legal proceedings against Gandapur. During the recent hearing, the court noted that despite repeated summons, he did not appear. Due to his absence, the judge ordered the police to ensure his arrest and bring him to the court in the next hearing.
The court emphasized that compliance with court orders is mandatory for every individual, regardless of political position or influence. It stated that failure to appear after formal notices left no option except to issue non-bailable warrants.
Ali Amin Gandapur has been facing several legal challenges over recent months. His legal team has claimed that he has health and security concerns. However, the court observed that no convincing medical or legal justification was submitted to justify further delay.
The audio leak case has gained attention due to its political context, as Gandapur is a prominent figure linked with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). His supporters view the case as part of broader political pressure, while legal experts emphasize that courts are acting based on legal requirements, not political motives.
The next hearing date has been set, and authorities have been instructed to execute the arrest order. If Gandapur is taken into custody, he will be formally presented before the court where further proceedings will take place.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies in different sectors have been active in recent operations targeting illegal activities. In a related report, customs officials confiscated smuggled cigarettes worth over Rs 38.5 million hidden under coal during a cargo inspection. This case also underscored ongoing efforts to curb unlawful trade and enforce regulations across the country.
Legal observers note that the outcome of the audio leak case may influence political activity and public discourse in the coming weeks. The case will now move forward after the execution of the arrest warrants and Gandapur’s court appearance.
Authorities are expected to submit a compliance report in the upcoming hearing.
