Rescue teams have recovered several parts of the Colonel’s car from the River Soan near DHA Phase 4 and Phase 7. The recovered pieces include the car’s bumper, door, tie rod, and side mirror. Search efforts intensified as water levels in the river receded, allowing teams to explore deeper areas and excavation zones.
Despite finding these fragments, the main frame of the Colonel’s car is still missing. The search for the Colonel’s daughter, Muneba, who was in the vehicle during the flash flood, is ongoing. Authorities and rescue teams continue their efforts to locate her and the rest of the car.
The tragedy occurred on July 22, 2025, when heavy monsoon rains caused sudden flooding in a private housing society. Col (retd) Qazi Ishaq and his 25-year-old daughter attempted to cross floodwaters near DHA Phase 5 but were swept away in the rising water along with their car.
A combined operation by Rescue 1122, the Pakistan Army, PDMA, Navy divers, and local agencies has been active since the incident. The teams are searching the Soan River and nearby nullahs to find the missing Colonel’s car and Muneba.
Officials confirmed that the body of Colonel Qazi Ishaq has been recovered and identified. However, Muneba remains missing. Key parts of the Colonel’s car have been found, but the core sections, including the chassis, have yet to be located.
Rescue teams are continuing their work in riverbeds and storm drains. Authorities have promised to keep searching until Muneba and the remaining parts of the Colonel’s car are found. This tragic event is part of a wider monsoon crisis that has caused many deaths and severe damage across Pakistan.
