Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz firmly rejected rumors about an alleged Lahore Rape Incident of student, labeling it a “fabricated story” aimed at misleading and inciting students via social media.

During a press conference in Lahore, she asserted that the incident never took place and that the rumors were intentionally spread to damage the government’s reputation.

Last week, reports of the alleged rape circulated widely on social media, leading to the arrest of a security guard at the college. Police confirmed that the suspect was in custody and an investigation was ongoing.

However, in today’s press briefing, CM Maryam Nawaz stated, “The alleged rape incident was a fabricated story with no basis in reality.” She further accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of instigating the rumors for political gain, claiming, “The girl is not a rape victim, but a victim of bad politics and conspiracy.”

In response, the FIA has started actions against those disseminating false information about the Lahore college ‘rape’ case, which has disrupted public order.

Additionally, CM Maryam Nawaz had previously established a high-level committee to investigate the alleged incident involving the female student at a private college.

The father of the girl involved denied the rape allegations, asserting that the protests in her name are baseless. He explained that his daughter had sustained a back injury from a fall at home, requiring her hospitalization in the ICU. He added, “We have provided the police with our daughter’s medical reports,” expressing disbelief at the protests. “Those who have daughters can feel this pain,” he remarked.
