CM Maryam Leaves for Five-Day Official Trip to Japan

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has set off on a five-day official visit to Japan, becoming the first Pakistani CM to undertake a state-level trip to the country. The visit comes at the invitation of the Japanese government and aims to strengthen bilateral ties and explore opportunities for cooperation in various sectors.

Maryam Nawaz, accompanied by a high-level delegation, departed from Lahore on Friday. Senior officials were present at the airport to bid farewell to the CM and her team. The delegation includes Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari, Sohaib Bharath, Zeeshan Rafiq, Special Assistant Sania Ashiq, and senior government officers.

During her trip, the Punjab CM will visit Tokyo, Osaka, and Yokohama. Her schedule features participation in the World Expo in Osaka, where she is expected to highlight Punjab’s potential in trade, investment, and cultural exchange. Meetings with senior Japanese officials are also planned, focusing on economic collaboration, technological advancement, and institutional partnerships.

In addition, Maryam Nawaz will tour various Japanese institutions to study their systems and best practices. The visit is seen as a significant diplomatic step, potentially opening new avenues for cooperation between Punjab and Japan.

With CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz’s visit to Japan, it is also expected that FM Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to visit Japan next month.
