Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the establishment of Pakistan’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) University in Lahore. Speaking at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025 in Turkey, she emphasized the importance of modern education—especially in AI—for preparing the youth for the future.
During her address, she outlined Punjab’s ongoing efforts to improve education, including digital classrooms, scholarships, and teacher recruitment, with a strong focus on supporting female students

She also introduced a major initiative called the “Nawaz Sharif Internet City,” designed to foster digital innovation, create jobs, and support startups across the province.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted the need for accessible education for girls and children in underprivileged and rural areas, noting that quality education is key to lasting societal change. She urged global cooperation to ensure education for all, especially children in conflict zones.
She stressed that investing in education and technology is essential for Pakistan’s progress on the global stage. The upcoming AI University will offer specialized programs in artificial intelligence and related technologies, aiming to equip students with future-ready skills.
