Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, has declined an official retirement dinner scheduled for October 25, which was to be funded by public money.
In a letter to the Registrar’s Office, the Chief Justice requested that no such event be organized in his honor, citing the Rs2 million cost to the public.

The Registrar’s Office had earlier announced a full court reference and a farewell dinner on the same day, with the latter being hosted by the Supreme Court Bar Association, which Justice Isa agreed to attend.
While it is customary to hold a dinner for retiring judges or Chief Justices, Justice Isa has opted not to follow this tradition.
