SHC Grants Urgent Hearing on Plea to Bring Back Pakistani Family Stranded in Syria
KARACHI – The Sindh High Court (SHC) has approved a request for an urgent hearing in a case seeking the repatriation of a Pakistani family stranded in Syria.
The court has issued notices to the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Director of Passport and Immigration, and the Pakistani Embassy in Syria, summoning their responses. The hearing is scheduled for January 15.

The petitioner, Mohiuddin Khan, revealed that his daughter-in-law and two grandchildren have been unable to return to Pakistan after his son, Kamran, who worked at a petroleum company in Syria, passed away. “The family has been left helpless since my son’s death,” Mohiuddin explained.
The family’s lawyer, Usman Farooq, criticized the Pakistani Embassy in Syria for failing to provide adequate support, emphasizing the need for urgent intervention.
This case sheds light on the challenges faced by Pakistani families abroad and underscores the critical need for effective consular services during crises.
