The rally came after Pakistan officially confirmed its intention to acquire the jets on social media, following weeks of speculation. Pakistani officials also revealed that pilots are already training in China in preparation for deliveries.
Pakistan to receive advanced J-35 stealth jets
China’s J-35A, a fifth-generation stealth fighter developed by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, is designed for stealth, long-range operations, and precision strikes, according to defense expert Brandon J. Weichert.
The aircraft features advanced AESA radar, modern avionics, and electro-optical targeting systems, allowing for superior detection avoidance and combat capabilities. It can carry long-range PL-15 and PL-17 missiles for beyond-visual-range engagements.
Powered by Russian RD-93 or Chinese WS-19 engines, the J-35A can reach speeds of up to 1,367 mph. Deliveries to Pakistan may begin by August, with trained pilots ready for deployment.
The stealth jets are expected to gradually replace Pakistan’s aging F-16 and Mirage fleets. Analysts suggest the new additions could significantly enhance Pakistan’s ability to counter Indian air defenses and conduct deep-strike missions, potentially altering the regional military balance.
