China Proposes Support for Pakistan’s Bullet Train Initiative

The General Manager of Guangzhou Metro Group (GMG), a state-owned Chinese transport firm, has expressed readiness to assist Pakistan in launching a bullet train project if the country seeks collaboration.

In an interview with local media, he highlighted that Guangzhou Metro managed billions of passenger journeys in 2024, with millions relying on its services weekly. He emphasized that safety and punctuality remain the company’s highest priorities, given the massive daily ridership.

The GM credited the system’s efficiency to a highly skilled workforce with advanced technical expertise, which has enabled Guangzhou Metro to earn public trust both in China and internationally.

He further noted that GMG has already shared its technology and expertise in Pakistan, Singapore, Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, and other regions, underscoring the company’s global standards in metro design, construction, and operations.
