China Is In favor Of Investigating The Bisham Attack While Pakistan Requests The Extradition Of Plotters From The Taliban

China has voiced its support for Pakistan’s investigation into the Bisham suicide bombing, which resulted in the deaths of five Chinese engineers and their driver in KP on March 26.

As Islamabad accuses Taliban authorities in Afghanistan of harboring the plotters and demands their extradition, China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning affirmed China’s backing for Pakistan’s efforts. She underscored China’s determination to ascertain the truth behind the attack and prosecute all those responsible.

The incident occurred on March 26 in the northwestern region when a suicide bomber targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers en route from Islamabad to their camp in Dasu. This area, notable for its major dam project, has been subject to previous attacks, including a 2021 bus explosion that claimed nine Chinese nationals among 13 victims.

In response to the Bisham attack, the Chinese government has called for a comprehensive investigation and heightened security measures to safeguard its citizens in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister recently asserted that the attack was orchestrated from Afghan territory and urged the arrest of several individuals, including banned TTP chief Noor Wali Mehsud.
