Chery Automobiles Partners with Master Group to Launch EVs and PHEVs in Pakistan

Chinese automaker Chery Automobiles has formed a strategic partnership with Pakistan’s Master Group of Industries to introduce a range of electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in the local market. This marks Chery’s second significant venture into Pakistan’s automotive sector, further expanding its footprint in the growing EV space.

Background and Market Developments

Earlier in February 2025, industry insiders revealed that NextGen Auto, a subsidiary of the Nishat Group, was negotiating with Chery to bring electric and hybrid SUVs like the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J7 PHEV to Pakistan. Meanwhile, Hyundai Nishat announced its own collaboration with Chery’s Omoda and Jaecoo brands but will market those vehicles independently, without directly associating with the Chery brand or platforms.

Master Group’s Direct Collaboration

The latest partnership with Master Group follows its prior work in launching Deepal electric vehicles in Pakistan, indicating a growing confidence in the EV market. This direct alliance with Chery is expected to accelerate the availability of new EV and PHEV models, offering Pakistani consumers more choices and intensifying competition in an otherwise limited segment.

This move aligns with broader industry efforts, including Chery’s plans to establish EV charging stations every 50 kilometers across Sindh, supporting the infrastructure needed for widespread EV adoption.
