At CES 2026, Google unveiled its new Gemini AI features for Google TV. The AI aims to make TVs smarter and more interactive.

Users can now adjust settings using simple voice commands. Commands like “the screen is too dim” or “increase dialogue volume” work instantly. Gemini AI changes brightness and audio without leaving the show. Google says this feature simplifies settings and avoids complicated menus.

The second feature enhances Google Photos on TV. Users can search photos with phrases like “show our 2019 beach trips” or “Maya’s graduation photos.” Gemini AI also allows creative edits using styles like Watercolor or Art Deco. Memories can be turned into cinematic slideshows or AI-generated images and videos using Google’s Nano Banana and Veo models.

For education, Gemini AI introduces “Deep Dives.” Families can ask complex questions, and the TV provides narrated, interactive explanations. This turns Google TV into a learning tool, not just an entertainment device.

Search responses on Google TV now come with visuals. Gemini AI displays videos, images, and real-time updates, replacing text-heavy results that don’t suit large screens.

At CES 2026, Google competes directly with Samsung and LG. Samsung’s Vision AI Companion integrates Bixby, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity AI for its 2026 TV lineup. It also introduces AI Soccer Mode Pro for FIFA World Cup 2026 viewers.

LG focuses on displaying innovation rather than AI. Its micro RGB LCD and premium OLED panels offer superior image quality. Google, however, leverages its software ecosystem. Gemini AI integrates Google Photos, Search, and generative AI, which Samsung and LG cannot match without third-party tools. Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the engineering world, and Jaana Dogan explains how these advancements are reshaping workflows. She highlights how AI tools can now perform complex coding tasks in hours that once took months.

Experts say the key question is whether Gemini AI can replace the remote. If voice control works well, it could change TV interaction. If not, it may be another AI gimmick.

CES 2026 highlights a trend where TVs become central hubs for entertainment, learning, and creativity. Google TV’s Gemini AI may set a new benchmark for interactive home devices.
