Celebrities Respond To Toddler’s Tragic Death In Karachi

The tragic death of a toddler, three-year-old Ibrahim, in Karachi has shocked residents and celebrities across Pakistan. Ibrahim fell into an open manhole near NIPA Chowrangi, highlighting ongoing negligence by municipal authorities. Such accidents have repeatedly endangered lives in the city.

Celebrities expressed grief and concern over the administration’s failure. Actress and host Mishi Khan criticized Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, saying he should have been present at the site of the tragedy. She emphasized that public officials are accountable to citizens, who deserve answers about safety and governance.

Host Waseem Badami shared a video on Instagram, highlighting Karachi’s deteriorating infrastructure. He said negligence and excuses by authorities continue to put citizens at risk, with no real solution in sight.

Actress Fatima Effendi questioned why manhole covers remain missing despite significant city revenue from e-challans. Actress Amar Khan pointed out that a task failed by authorities was completed by a trash-picker. She described the incident as heartbreaking and asked, “If the authorities don’t wake up now, then when will they?”

Actress Sajal Aly raised concerns about the city’s system, asking who is responsible for the destruction of Karachi’s infrastructure.

Actor Ahsan Khan called the toddler’s death a proof of collective failure, noting that 20 to 24 people have died in manholes this year alone. Actress Mahira Khan described the incident as unimaginably cruel negligence after seeing the mother’s grief on video.
