The longstanding issue regarding the transfer of 729 plots from the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been successfully resolved. DHA has issued allotment letters for these plots to the CDA.
Following this resolution, the CDA has announced plans to offer the 729 residential plots to the general public and Overseas Pakistanis. This decision was made during a meeting at the CDA headquarters, chaired by Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and attended by all board members and senior officers.

Background of the Dispute
The dispute dates back to 2007-2008 when CDA transferred 2,412 kanals and five marlas of land to DHA under an agreement. The original agreement entailed that CDA would receive 729 plots in return. However, the allotment did not materialize for over 15 years. Under a new agreement, DHA has now fulfilled its obligation by handing over the 729 plots to CDA.
CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that resolving this issue demonstrates the authority’s commitment to protecting its interests and assets. The newly acquired plots, valued at billions of rupees, will be offered to the public and Overseas Pakistanis, generating significant revenue for the CDA.
The funds generated from the sale of these plots will be directed towards infrastructure projects, enhancing public services, and overall development of Islamabad. Randhawa praised the collective efforts that led to the resolution of this long-standing issue, marking a significant achievement for the CDA.
