CDA Plans Demolition of Illegal Garages Outside Islamabad Homes

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has released a public notice announcing action against illegally built garages constructed outside residential houses in different sectors and localities of Islamabad.

According to the notice, homeowners who have built unauthorized garages outside their properties have been warned to remove them immediately. The authority stated that if residents fail to comply, strict legal action will be taken. In such cases, CDA enforcement teams will carry out demolition operations to remove the illegal structures, and any damage or loss caused during the process will be the responsibility of the property owners. Officials said the purpose of this move is to safeguard government land and ensure easy and safe access for the public.

The enforcement directorate of the CDA explained that several residents have constructed garages outside their houses by occupying government land and public pathways. These encroachments have created obstacles for pedestrians and vehicles, causing inconvenience in many neighborhoods.

Authorities further noted that such illegal constructions result in the unauthorized use of public land and shared spaces. This not only violates civic rules but also limits the availability of areas that are meant for community use. Officials added that these encroachments disrupt smooth movement within residential sectors and affect the overall urban environment.

To address the issue, the CDA has planned a phased enforcement campaign aimed at removing all unauthorized garages built outside houses. Through the public notice, property owners and allottees have been instructed to voluntarily dismantle these structures within one week of the notice being issued.

Officials emphasized that the action is part of broader efforts to eliminate encroachments, protect public property, and maintain proper urban planning standards across Islamabad.
