CDA to Accelerate Development of Residential Sectors in Islamabad

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to expedite the development of eight residential sectors in Islamabad, with a focus on delivering fully developed plots to allottees on time. Sector C-14 is at the forefront of these efforts, with more than 200 one-kanal plots already generating over Rs12 billion in revenue through auctions. Possession of these plots will be handed over to the owners once the final installment is paid.

In a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Thursday, senior officials and board members reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects. The Chairman highlighted that 85 percent of the road infrastructure and 35 percent of the drainage and sewerage systems in Sector C-14 have already been completed. He assured that possession of plots would be granted even before the last installment is paid.

The development work in Sector I-12 is also nearing completion, with 78 percent of the project finished. Similar progress has been seen in Sectors E-12/2 and E-12/1, where most of the development work has been finalized. However, legal and logistical challenges related to Built-Up Property (BUP) in Sector E-12 were discussed, and directives were issued to resolve these issues promptly.

Additionally, progress in Sectors C-15, C-16, C-13, D-13, E-13, and F-13 was reviewed. The Chairman instructed CDA’s Engineering and State Wings to eliminate obstacles hindering development in these areas. He also pledged to visit these sectors personally to ensure swift progress and address any challenges.

The CDA has set the price of each one-kanal plot in Sector C-14 at Rs60 million, with payment to be made in installments over nine months. This initiative is expected to alleviate the growing housing demand in Islamabad while significantly boosting the CDA’s revenue.
