Madani Mosque in Islamabad demolished during illegal construction crackdown Ask ChatGPT

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched an operation to remove illegally constructed mosques in Islamabad, beginning with the demolition of Madani Mosque near Rawal Dam on Murree Road.

Authorities had earlier identified over 100 mosques violating construction laws and issued notices to their administrations. The latest crackdown follows years of intermittent efforts, which in the past were often halted after demolishing just one or two mosques due to public order concerns.

The targeted mosques include both small structures in sparsely populated areas and long-established ones located in busy neighborhoods.

Police and other law enforcement personnel were stationed at the site of the Madani Mosque to ensure peace and prevent any untoward incidents during the demolition.

The CDA reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing building codes and urban planning rules, stating that the drive aims to uphold legal land use while respecting religious freedoms.
