[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Cambridge Assessment International Examination (CAIE) has provided applicants with two options after their tests were cancelled on May 10, 11, and 12.
The British Council has requested special consideration from Cambridge for all affected candidates in the first option, while the second option allows candidates to withdraw from and receive a refund for subjects where exams were cancelled if they do not wish to take advantage of the special consideration offered.
Candidates can request to withdraw their participation for courses in the June 2023 series, excluding those affected by the May 10, 11, and 12 exam cancellations, according to the CIE.
If an applicant decides to leave, they must do so in accordance with Cambridge International’s withdrawal procedure for 2023, according to a CIE statement.

It should be noted that after a withdrawal request is submitted, the candidate cannot later request that the corresponding components be marked.
Meanwhile, all withdrawal requests will be handled by the British Council in accordance with the stated policy.
Schools and candidates, according to the statement, should also note paragraph 3.2.10 of the Cambridge Handbook 2023, which states that applicants cannot re-use coursework submitted in a prior test series. This means that applicants who resign from the June 2023 series and reapply in a later series will have to create new coursework for their subsequent entrance.
The CIE, on the other hand, has advised against withdrawal and refund for the following reasons: The schools will be unable to support students’ examination preparation for XIC and A2 (the outgoing classes) from June 2023.
It will cause disruption in the middle of the academic session of the following class level for students who join our BCP curriculum. For example, consider Al pupils sitting XIC examinations in October/November 2021. Withdrawing from XC and AS Level exams will cause a disturbance in the midst of the academic year of the next class level to sit the exam.
